Notes From "Old" Friends
Hey, y'all — we added this page as a service to anyone wanting to leave a message for the Cherokees Forever! group in general. Postings are e-mails to the mail@cherokeesforever.com e-mail address. (Of course, we also invite anyone who e-mails the web site to consider joining the Blog site. See "CHEROKEES FOREVER DISCUSSION BLOG" on the Announcements page.)

Greetings All:

Great to visit the website. Although did not find any notes from "old" friends, I was encouraged nonetheless by the thought that perhaps there may be notes left behind by those who may choose to visit the site in the future.

In the interim, I'm glad to simply, "Hey, y'all I'm still alive and well. So, greetings from California."

HELLO TO EVERYONE.
This is Gay Lynn BEABOUT and I am so happy to have found out how to connect back to all the old friends from school. I still have my Senior ring and I still wear it.

Howdy Ya'll,

It's me Vern from the class of 67. I'm looking for my buddies who talked me into (tricked is the better word) the Marine Corps after graduation from Sam Houston. Although they may be hiding from me, I have now forgiven them for getting me into the Corps. They are Danny Patrick and Sylvan Rex from the old Barbecue joint. Wesley Griffen Tucker joined the Marines with us but didn't make it back from Viet Nam. Where are you guys hiding?

I'm still living in California. My wife Janet of 26 years still won't let me move back to Texas. Besides, I probably still owe traffic tickets somewhere. I'm currently a school superintendent and have worked in the California Schools for 35 years. I'm retiring this June and retired from the Military Reserves in 1992 after 22 years. I'm going to my 40th reunion of my Marine Corps unit from Viet Nam this September at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego this September. My daughter recently got married and I hope she finally graduates from college this year. I lost a son to brain cancer in 2000. Enough about me.

Where are you Danny and Sylvan?
