Welcome to the Cherokees Forever! web site. This
site is for all San Antonio Sam Houston High School alumni who were, and still consider themselves, Cherokees.
Sam
Houston High School chose the Cherokee name in 1943, and it remained the mascot name until 2003, when it was replaced by some
blow hard. The Class of 2002 was the last graduating class of Cherokees.
Another page in this site will cover some
of Sam Houston's history, with links to even more sites, if you are interested. Several well researched books have been published
recently, and references to them ware also included.
This site is open to anyone who considers themselves a SHHS Cherokee.
It is currently hosted by the Class of '65, but any class may post announcements, pictures, or contribute content. Please
send us your comments, or items for inclusion to either of the Email links at the lower right corner.
